Prospective Students Information

What to expect on a student tour

Please call to schedule a tour in advance by contacting the school at 415-485-2332. The number of students allowed per tour is limited to help ensure an optimal experience for each prospective student.

Student tours provide prospective students with an opportunity to get a general overview of the programs SRHS offers across all four years.  Visitors will take a tour of the school to see the facilities and various departments including drama, art, physics, science labs, and media.  For the second part of the tour, visitors are matched with an ambassador with whom they will visit four classes for approximately 20 minutes each.

On tour dates, visitors should meet in at the loading zone on Mission Avenue at the back of the school at 8:15 am.  Tours will end at 11:00am and students should be picked up at the front of the school under the arch that says “San Rafael High School.” We encourage you to schedule a tour early in the year as they do fill up.

8th Grade Information Nights For Parents & Students

The 1st 8th Grade Parent and Student Night will be held in the Theater on November 7th at 6pm. During this time Administrators meet with parents and students in the San Rafael High School theater to provide an overview of the programs, policies, and activities available at San Rafael High School. Spanish translation will be available.

The 2nd 8th Grade Parent Night is on January 29th in the Theater starting at 6:30pm. During this time San Rafael High School counselors will meet with 8th grade parents to discuss the school and courses available to freshmen for their programming appointments in February and March. This will not be the same information covered at the first 8th grade parents night in November. Spanish translation will be available.

San Rafael High School counselors will go to Davidson and Venetia Valley to meet with all 8th grade students individually to review their course selections for 9th grade. Parents will receive their student’s appointment in advance and are invited to attend with their student. If parents do not attend, it is important to read and sign your child’s course form prior to his/her appointment.
